An excessive heat warning remains in effect from noon today to
7 PM CDT Monday for the following counties...
In Arkansas...
Crawford... Franklin... Sebastian.
In Oklahoma...
Pawnee... Tulsa... Rogers... Mayes... creek... Okmulgee... Wagoner...
Muskogee... Sequoyah.
The combination of temperature and humidity will push heat indices
into the 105 to 110 degree range today as high pressure aloft
continues to build. Meanwhile... low temperatures in the mid to
upper 70s will provide little relief from the heat.
An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the
sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
