regional weather discussion... at 1 am...radar indicated a large area of showers and thunderstorms extending from eastern New Mexico into the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. The precipitation was developing and moving to the northeast in advance of a strong upper level system centered over the Great Basin. During the overnight hours some of the rain and thunderstorms may move into far northwest Oklahoma...but the better chance will remain across West Texas and the Oklahoma Panhandle. Elsewhere...clouds will continue to increase and thicken across central and southern Oklahoma. Breezy southerly winds will be common at 15 to 20 mph...with gusts around 25 mph across western Oklahoma.
