Flood Warning
Statement as of 9:17 PM CDT on May 29, 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Washita river near Dickson.

* Until Wednesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 8:30 PM Friday the stage was 35.8 feet.

* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Washita river is near crest and may rise slightly to
near 35.9 feet early Saturday morning. The Washita river will begin
falling by mid Saturday morning and fall below flood stage early
Wednesday morning.

* Impact... at 36.0 feet... flood depths up to 11 feet extend damages
along the Washita River Valley... from near Davis in Murray
County... to near Dickson in Carter County... to the headwaters of
Lake Texoma in Johnston County. Many homesteads could be flooded or
isolated. Nearly 8 thousand acres of agricultural lands are
covered. Any flooding on tributary creeks is increased by backwater
from the river.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* all of northern... central... and southern Oklahoma... and western
North Texas.

* Through Saturday evening

* one more round of heavy rainfall is expected this evening and
overnight as a complex of storms moves across portions of
southern Oklahoma and North Texas. Additional storms are
expected to develop along and behind a cold front moving through
the area. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches will be possible with
locally higher amounts... especially along and south of the Red
River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Monitor weather forecasts and information. Make plans to get to
higher ground if flooding happens.
