A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect from noon
Sunday to midnight CST Sunday night.
* Event... snow is expected to develop across the eastern Texas
and Oklahoma panhandles Sunday afternoon and night. Snowfall
accumulations of 1 to 3 inches... with locally higher amounts
of up to 5 inches across the far southeastern Texas
Panhandle... can be expected.
* Timing... snow will develop and overspread the eastern portions
of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles shortly after noon. Snow
will continue through the afternoon and evening hours before
tapering off around midnight.
* Impacts... roads and bridges may become slick from the snow...
leading to hazardous travel conditions. In addition... strong
south winds may occasionally reduce visibilities due to
blowing snow.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
