November 8 through 14 is winter weather awareness week in West Virginia. Be ready for winter\s worst. Prepare your vehicle for winter driving.
Have your car winterized before the winter storm season. Check your battery... antifreeze... wipers... windshield washer fluid... ignition system... lights... heater... defroster... and oil level.
If you have a cell phone or two-way radio... keep The Battery charged and keep it with you whenever you travel in winter weather.
Keep a windshield scraper and small broom in your car for ice and snow removal.
Put together an emergency supplies kit for the trunk of each car which should include blankets... extra clothes... Snacks... bottled water... jumper cables... first aid kit... a flashlight with batteries... a box of sand... and a shovel.
Keep your car/S Gas Tank full for emergency use and to keep the line from freezing.
Plan long trips carefully. Check the latest Road conditions along your Route. Travel during daylight hours if possible. Let someone know your destination... Route... and when you expect to arrive.
