The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Belmont County in east central Ohio...

* until 500 PM EST

* emergency management reported flooding due to ice jams.

* State Route 148 was reported flooded and closed due to an ice jam
in the Powhatan area. State Route 149 was also reported flooded and
closed west of Belaire due to an ice jam.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall and snow melt will cause
flooding of small streams... roads and farmland along the banks of
creeks.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of western Maryland... east central Ohio... southwest
Pennsylvania and West Virginia... including the following
areas... in western Maryland... Garrett. In east central Ohio...
Belmont... Monroe and Noble. In southwest Pennsylvania...
Fayette... Fayette ridges... Greene... Washington... Westmoreland
and Westmoreland ridges. In West Virginia... Brooke... Hancock...
   Marion... Marshall... Monongalia... Ohio... Preston... Tucker and
Wetzel.

* Until 7 PM EST this evening

* an additional one quarter inch of rain is possible into early
evening before precipitation changes to snow.

* This rainfall combined with snow melt will cause flooding of
poor drainage areas and small streams... especially those
dammed by ice.
