... A line of strong to severe thunderstorms will move into the area this afternoon...
Thunderstorms in western New York ahead of a cold front are moving east into central New York. The line is expected to move into the area mostly between 1 and 4 PM. Thunderstorms could have damaging winds and large hail... as well as frequent lightning and heavy rain. Rainfall amounts will be mainly under an inch... but some locations could get 1 to 3 inches. This could cause flash flooding of urban areas... and small streams and creeks. Thunderstorms and showers will last for around 2 hours.
