Public Information Statement |
 |
|
Statement as of 8:00 am EST on November 25, 2009
... Growing season has ended for the tri-state area...
The growing season has ended for the following counties as the average date of the first autumn freeze has been surpassed by two weeks...
In New York...
New York... Kings... Queens... Bronx... Staten Island.
In New Jersey...
Hudson.
This has now ended the growing season for the tri-state region. Freeze warnings and frost advisories will no longer be issued for these areas until the 2010 growing season begins.
The growing season typically starts on the average date of the last Spring freeze... or sooner if an anomalously warm pattern sets up in the Spring.
