Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 1:18 PM EST on February 01, 2015

...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Monday...

* locations...Litchfield County Connecticut...Berkshires... southern Vermont...greater capital region...Glens Falls and Saratoga region...helderbergs...Mohawk and Schoharie valleys... Mid Hudson valley...Taconics and the eastern Catskills.

* Hazard types...heavy snow.

* Snow accumulation...8 to 16 inches...with the highest totals across the eastern Catskills...helderbergs...northern and central Taconics...Berkshires and southern Green Mountains.

* Maximum snowfall rates...an inch or so an hour.

* Timing...snow moving in this evening...becoming heavy at times prior to daybreak Monday...and continuing into the afternoon. The snow will taper to scattered snow showers Monday evening.

* Impacts...hazardous and treacherous travel conditions from late this evening through Monday. Roads will be snow covered and extremely slippery. Unnecessary travel is not recommended.

* Winds...northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures...single digits to lower 20s.
