Statement as of 8:51 PM EDT on March 15, 2014
... Heavier snow showers and squalls moving through the Champlain Valley...
At 845 PM... National Weather Service radar and local observations
show an area of heavier snow showers and localized squalls pushing
through the northern Champlain Valley and extending into the
western slopes of the northern Green Mountains. The activity was
along and just ahead of an Arctic cold front moving through the
region this evening. While the heavier activity should not last
more than an hour or so in any given location... a quick dusting
to 2 inches will be possible across central and northern
Vermont... as well as Essex County New York through late evening.
As drier air pushes into the region later this evening... snow
shower activity should taper off in all but the higher elevations.
