Statement as of 2:50 PM PDT on October 11, 2008 ... Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect until 5 am PDT Sunday... A low pressure system slowly moves eastward into Utah through Sunday allowing snow showers to continue over northern and eastern Elko County through Sunday morning. Additional localized snow amounts of 1 to 3 can be expected by Sunday morning with slightly higher amounts of 2 to 4 inches over northeastern Elko County. For the mountains and passes above 6500 feet... mainly east of rubies... expect an additional 2 to 4 inches of snowfall. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
