A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. The strongest winds this week are likely to occur Tuesday afternoon and evening across the western Nevada basin and range. West winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph are forecast to combine with afternoon humidity of 5 to 10 percent. With fuels rapidly drying across this area below 7000 feet... potential weather conditions are conducive to rapid fire growth. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Check weather.Gov/Reno/fire for updates and possible red flag warnings.
