... Record cold and early-season snow... An intense early-season winter storm will dominate the region this weekend. Snowfall amounts over eastern Nevada will generally be 1 to 3 inches in the valleys and 4 to 8 inches on the east side of the mountains of Elko County. Being early in the winter season... records for snowfall could be surpassed. Additionally... the extreme cold associated with this storm system will approach record lows in several locations through Monday morning.
