Statement as of 4:44 AM PST on December 17, 2009 ... Freezing fog advisory remains in effect until noon PST today... A freezing fog advisory remains in effect until noon PST today. * Freezing fog will persist through this morning... especially in valleys with recent snow cover. Fog may not burn off in some locations until midday. * Visibility of one quarter mile or less at times will affect Interstate 80... Highway 50 and Highway 95. * Freezing fog can form a thin layer of ice on roads... which combined with low visibility will create hazardous driving conditions. Motorists may encounter rapidly changing visibility and Road conditions over a short distance. * Freezing fog is likely to affect a larger area of western Nevada Thursday evening through Friday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Visibilities will frequently be reduced to one quarter mile with a light coating of ice on roads. If driving... slow down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance between you and other vehicles. Http://weather.Gov/Reno |
