Special Statement
Statement as of 11:18 AM PDT on April 24, 2015

... Beneficial precipitation expected through Sunday...

Much needed valley rain and mountain snow will continue through
today. The next storm system will impact Nevada on Saturday and
depart Sunday morning.

Most valleys will receive between 0.10 and 0.30 inches of
rain by Sunday morning. Snow levels will drop to most valley
floors Saturday evening... but the majority of the precipitation
will be over. Only expecting a dusting to one inch above 5500
feet. The mountains will pick up an additional 3-7 inches... with
locally higher amounts possible.

Due to the timing of the system... travel impacts will be minimal.
The highest passes could see some localized slick spots... but the
main threat will be from lowered visibility. Plan your trip
accordingly if traveling over the passes and summits... especially
if recreating in the high country.
