Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:24 PM PDT on July 04, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Nevada... north central Nevada and northeast
Nevada... including the following areas... in Nevada...
northeastern Nye County... Ruby Mountains and East Humboldt
Range... south central Elko County... southwest Elko County and
White Pine County. In north central Nevada... northern Lander
County and northern Eureka County and southern Lander County
and southern Eureka County. In northeast Nevada... northern
Elko County.

* Through late tonight

* scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will produce
locally heavy rain. Storms will move slowly... enhancing
rainfall amounts and flash flooding potential.

* Areas most prone to flash flooding include small creeks and
streams in and near the higher terrain... near burn scars... and
normally dry washes. Rock slides and debris/water flows over
roadways are possible. Roadways in low-lying areas will be
susceptible to flash flooding. If camping outdoors this
Holiday weekend... remain aware of water near you... and have a
plan to move to higher ground should flash flooding occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
