Northern Lander County and Northern Eureka County Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 3:24 AM PDT on October 30, 2014

...Significant change in the weather expected Saturday...

On the heels of a string of above-normal temperatures...a strong trough of low pressure will move into the state this weekend to bring strong winds to central Nevada and snowy conditions to much of northern and central Nevada. The timing and track of this storm continues to change however winds will be increasing today and become very gusty Friday afternoon. Precipitation will start out as rain in the valleys Friday evening then transition to snow showers early Saturday. Due to the timing of the storm...elevations above 5500 feet will be susceptible to several inches of snow accumulation with little accumulation below that level. Highway overpasses will possibly become slushy at times on Saturday and temperatures will hover in the 30s across much of the Great Basin.

Motorists should remain alert to rapidly changing weather ...And take necessary precautions if travel is necessary Saturday.
