... Winter weather returns to Nevada...
A strong winter storm will arrive in western Oregon Friday
afternoon, spreading numerous showers of snow and snow pellets
across Nevada. While snow showers are likely Friday afternoon,
accumulations will be limited to less than one inch for valley
locations. Roads will remain wet during the daytime hours, with
few if any travel impacts. Isolated thunderstorms are possible
across northern Nevada. The heaviest showers of snow or snow
pellets will briefly reduce visibility Friday afternoon.
Snow shower coverage will decrease some Friday night, as the
winter storm sinks south into northern California Saturday
morning. Scattered to numerous snow or snow pellet showers will
redevelop Saturday afternoon. An isolated thunderstorm is again
possible. More significant snowfall of 3 to 6 inches is possible
along and south of U.S. Highway 50 Saturday afternoon and evening.
Valley roadways will remain wet during daylight hours. Winter
weather advisories may be required for snow that falls at night,
especially across central Nevada after sunset Saturday evening.
