Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue over the middle and lower Rio Grande Valley...Sandia and Manzano Mountains...and . Central High plains. Movement will be to the southeast at 20 mph. Through 600 PM most of the rain will be be over eastern Socorro and eastern Torrance counties. Winds may gust to 45 mph with any storm along with pea size hail and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. Storms will tend to produce less than a tenth of an inch but some stronger cells will produce up to a quarter of an inch.

At 413 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing nickel size hail... and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located over northeastern Lincoln County... or about 28 miles southeast of Corona... moving southeast at 15 mph.
* The severe thunderstorm will be near... rural northeastern Lincoln County around 430 PM MDT...

Areal Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued an
* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for... northeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico southeastern Torrance County in central New Mexico
* until 500 PM MDT
* at 329 PM MDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated heavy rain occurring over far northeastern Lincoln County. A slow moving thunderstorm was producing rainfall rates between one and two inches per hour north of State Highway 247. Washes... arroyos... and other drainage areas feeding into the marino draw... the camaleon draw... and small streams near Round Top and Gallo Canyon will see fast flows and excessive runoff. Expect ponding of water in flatter areas... and any low lying areas.
* Strong flows and high water levels are expected in arroyos... small streams and over low water crossings.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Remember... ditches are deadly. A gentle flow of water can become a raging torrent in a matter of minutes.
The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in flooding of Road intersections and low-lying areas. Waters may begin to run in normally dry arroyos.
