... Winter Storm Warning in effect from noon today to 6 PM MDT
Saturday...
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow... which is in
effect from noon today to 6 PM MDT Saturday. The Winter Storm
Watch is no longer in effect.
* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches.
* Timing... rain and snow will develop early this afternoon and
change to all snow by late afternoon and continue heavy at times
into Saturday morning. Snow will diminish Saturday afternoon.
* Winds... north to northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 35 mph will develop this afternoon then turn to the northeast
and east this evening. This will create areas of blowing and
drifting snowfall.
* Snow levels... precipitation will initially start out with a
mixture of rain and snow this afternoon and change to all snow
by early this evening.
* Local impacts... snow is expected to impact travel due to snow
packed roadways and reduced visibilities.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means
severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel
dangerous. Strong winds are likely. Only travel in an emergency.
