Most of the showers and storms through 430 PM will be west of a Clayton to Conchas Lake line. A few severe thunderstorms are possible generating hail to 1 inch diameter...gusty winds up to 60 mph and frequent lightning. Heavy rain is also possible which could lead to flooding of arroyos...small streams and low water crossings.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued an
* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for... northwestern San Miguel County in northeast New Mexico
* until 415 PM MDT
* at 238 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain across northwest San Miguel County. Expect rainfall rates of one or two inches per hour through 330 PM MDT. A few locales that will be impacted by the heavy rainfall include El Porvenir... Gallinas... Montezuma... Gallina creek and Tecolote creek.
* Strong flows and high water levels are expected in arroyos... small streams and over low water crossings.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
