Snow will continue across much of central and eastern New Mexico into the early morning hours. Before 6 am...some of the heavier snow may fall in an area from Cuba and Los Alamos...to Pecos... Clines Corners...and Claunch. Light to moderate snow will also fall in the Rio Grande Valley...from Bernalillo into the Albuquerque Metro...across Valencia County to Belen...and over Bernardo to Socorro. Gusty East Canyon winds into the Rio Grande Valley will persist before gradually tapering off later this morning. In the eastern plains...winds will continue to blow from the north and northeast around 15 to 25 mph...creating areas of blowing and drifting snow and significantly reduced visibilities. Near white-out conditions will be possible in localized areas...and travelers should exercise extreme caution. In addition...wind chill values will be in single digits to the teens.
