The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Cibola County in west central New Mexico...
northwestern Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* until 545 PM MDT

* at 351 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms on the Acoma reservation. Radar
estimated around 3 inches of rain fell locally over the Acoma
river northwest of Acoma Pueblo from 1 to 3 PM. Additional
thunderstorms have since developed east of the Pueblo.

* Locations impacted include...
Mesita... Acoma Pueblo and New Laguna.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 110 and 114... and
between mile markers 117 and 123.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous
flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to
drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles
and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

northeastern Cibola County in west central New Mexico...
east central McKinley County in west central New Mexico...

* until 545 PM MDT

* at 343 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to numerous slow moving thunderstorms. Stronger
storms were producing rain at a rate well over 1 inch per hour.

* Locations impacted include...
Torreon Navajo mission... Fenton Lake State Park... San Mateo and
Marquez.

Other locations affected include Vista Linda campground and Marquez
wildlife area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous
flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to

heavy rain due to numerous slow moving thunderstorms. Stronger
cells will be capable of producing torrential rain at a rate
approaching 1 inch per half hour.

* Locations impacted include...
Santa Rosa... Vaughn... Encino... Anton Chico... Dilia... Cuervo...
Pastura... Yeso... Colonias and Puerto de Luna.

This includes the following highways...
