Nowcast | as of 3:51 am MDT on September 16, 2014

Through sunrise...bands of rain and embedded thunderstorms will continue to stream northward across the west central and Southwest Mountains...as well as the lower Rio Grande and upper Tularosa river valleys. Some of this precipitation may also work its way northward over the south Central Highlands...middle Rio Grande Valley and west Central Plateau. Rain rates will generally vary around a tenth of an inch per hour...but a few of the heavier cells could produce rain at a rate around three quarters of an inch per hour. Hazardous runoff will continue to be possible in locations that received heavy rain earlier in the night. Motorists on I-25 should anticipate significant ponding in spots through Socorro County and allow additional travel time to reach your destination.
