Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:24 PM MDT on July 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico...
northeastern Taos County in north central New Mexico...

* until 715 PM MDT

* at 521 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to a cluster of thunderstorms between Cimarron and
Shuree campgrounds and mccrystal creek along County Road 1950.
Expect 1 to 1.3 inches of rainfall in this area. Some of the
runoff will dump into the headwaters of the ponil as well as drain
towards the west into commanche creek.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Colfax
and northeastern Taos counties.

Other locations affected include mccrystal creek campground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings.
Do not attempt to drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may
travel many miles and take hours to reach
your location from upstream rain areas.
