Light to moderate snow will continue to increase in coverage across portions of western New Mexico through 1100 PM MST. Additional snowfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are likely above 7000 feet... particularly along southwest facing slopes of the Chuska Mountains and areas along the Continental Divide. This includes portions of Interstate 40 between Grants and the Arizona border. Lighter accumulations of an inch or less are expected in the lower elevations through 1030 PM MST. Motorists can expect Road conditions to continue to deteriorate through the late evening and into the early morning hours...especially in the high terrain. Visibilities will also be reduced below one mile at times in the heaviest snowfall.

Snow showers likely in the morning...then rain and snow likely in the afternoon. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Highs in the mid 30s to lower 40s. South winds 10 to 20 mph shifting to the northwest in the afternoon.

* Local impacts... hazardous driving conditions are expected across the area. Visibilities may be reduced Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as snow intensity increases. Roadways may become snow packed and icy for Holiday travelers... including the Interstate 40 corridor between Grants and the Arizona border.
