Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move to the east at 20 mph throughout the west central and Southwest Mountains of New Mexico as well as the lower Rio Grande Valley through late afternoon. Most of the showers and storms will be east of a Grants to Glenwood line. Stronger storms will be capable of frequent lightning...gusty winds up to 40 mph and small hail. Rainfall amounts from one quarter to one half of an inch are likely with most storms. Locally higher amounts up to one inch are possible and could lead to localized flooding of low lying areas and low water crossings.
