Periods of light snow will continue along the east slopes of the central mountains and adjacent High Plains through the late afternoon hours. Snow accumulations will be less than a half an inch. Periods of light to moderate snow will impact the southeast plains and favor Chaves...Roosevelt...debaca and Curry counties. Upwards of 1 inch through 5 PM will fall there. Southern Chaves County will see minimal accumulations on the grassy surfaces. Cold air will continue to push from north to south across eastern New Mexico and provide wind chills in the teens.

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight MST
tonight...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow remains in
effect until midnight MST tonight.

* Snow accumulations... 1 inch below 6000 feet and 1 to 3 inches
above 6000 feet. In addition... a light glaze of freezing drizzle
is possible until dark over Chaves and Roosevelt counties.

* Timing... snow will continue through early tonight... with a bit
of freezing drizzle until dark across Chaves and Roosevelt
counties. Snow will diminish around midnight.

* Winds... north to northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30
mph.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for freezing
drizzle and snow at all locations.

* Local impacts... difficult travel conditions this evening due to
icy roads. Visibilities will be reduced in snow and blowing
snow... as well as freezing fog. This includes Interstate 40 near
Clines Corners... Highway 285 from Roswell to Vaughn... as well
as highways 60 and 70.
