Nowcast as of 6:30 PM MDT on July 5, 2009
Now
Isolated showers and a few thunderstorms will continue to move to the east southeast at 20 mph over the west central and Southwest Mountains of New Mexico as well as the lower Rio Grande Valley through the early evening. Precipitation will tend to favor eastern Catron and western Socorro counties near Datil...the very large array...and the Bosque del Apache. Stronger storms will be capable of frequent lightning...gusty winds up to 40 mph and small hail. Rainfall amounts from one tenth to one half inch will be common with storms. Water will pond in low lying areas and low water crossings...and will flow through normally dry arroyos.
