The National Weather Service in El Paso TX/Santa Teresa has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 11 am MST Friday. The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.
Snow showers will develop this afternoon and will continue through the morning hours on Friday. Snowfall totals of five to eight inches with isolated higher amounts will be possible. The snow showers will taper off during the morning hours on Friday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow... sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
