Nowcast | as of 9:50 PM MDT on September 16, 2014

A narrowing west to east oriented area of light to moderate rain was centered roughly on and up to 20 miles or so either side of a line from near Red Hill to about 5 miles north of Corona to Elkins. This area was still drifting to the east overall...but again still easing a bit northward nearer the Arizona line and a bit southward nearer the Texas line. An isolated thunderstorm or two may still infrequently develop from southern Catron County on east into Chaves County through the night. Through midnight this rain area should stay near to south of a line from Zuni Pueblo to Estancia over to Causey in Roosevelt County. Rainfall amounts during this period will range from a few hundredths to as much as a third of an inch... though locally higher amounts between one half and three quarters of an inch could accumulate with any storms that may develop. Greatest rain amounts overall during this period should primarily remain in the northeast half of Catron County and into western Socorro County. Quemado...Datil...Pietown...Bernardo...Socorro... Mountainair...Corona...Elkins...Milnesand and Roswell are among the localities to be affected.
