Nowcast | as of 1:31 PM MST on November 23, 2014

Rain and higher elevation snow showers will continue through the afternoon over portions of northern and central New Mexico. Snow levels are expected to generally hover between 6500 and 7500 feet with a few hundredths of an inch of rain falling below and potentially another inch of fresh snow at higher elevations. Visibilities may temporarily reduce to less than a mile in any passing showers...and some slick spots may develop on higher terrain roads. Areas that are expected to see the greatest impacts from snow will include the northern peaks of New Mexico with less impacts farther south. In addition...strong northwest winds will prevail with some gusts reaching 45 to 60 mph. This will create some blowing snow in the higher elevations and strong cross winds on southwest to northeast oriented roads.
