The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag warning...which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Friday. A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening.

* Area and timing...northeast Highlands and plains...east Central Plains...Sandia...Manzano and Gallinas Mountains and the middle Rio Grande Valley primarily south of Belen. Critical conditions will develop Friday afternoon through Friday evening. Critical conditions may redevelop mid morning Saturday then persist until after sunset Saturday evening.

* 20 foot winds...southwest and west 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph Friday afternoon. Southwest 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph Saturday afternoon.

* Relative humidity...ranging from 6 to 10 percent Friday afternoon and 7 to 12 percent Saturday afternoon.

* Impacts...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
