... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect until 11 am EST Sunday... ... Coastal Flood Warning is cancelled... ... High surf advisory is cancelled...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a coastal Flood Advisory... which is in effect until 11 am EST Sunday. The coastal Flood Warning has been cancelled. The high surf advisory has been cancelled.
Northeast winds have subsided somewhat this morning... and will become a bit more northerly during today. While water levels will remain above normal... widespread moderate tidal flooding is no longer expected. However... with elevated water levels minor tidal flooding will still occur today... tonight... and Sunday morning especially around the times of high tide. There could even be some highly localized moderate tidal flooding again... but if any occurs it would be much less in areal extent and magnitude than it was during the past few days.
High tide along the ocean front is later this afternoon and early this evening... and again early Sunday morning until an hour or two after sunrise.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore. Do not drive through flood waters... the water may be deeper than you think it is.
