... Second coldest Max temperature for may 12th in Philadelphia...
The high temperature today at Philadelphia International Airport was only 49 degrees at 8:46 this morning. This is the second coldest Max temperature recorded in Philadelphia since records began in 1874. The record is 48 degrees set in 1882, which also had the coldest mean temperature of 45 for the day. To come this close to breaking a record that is 126 years old would be quite a record, but, then again so is having a Nor'easter on mothers day.
By the way, the normal Max and min temperature for today is 71 and 54 degrees. Highest ever for may 12th is 91 in 1881 and lowest is 37 in 1962. The average temperature for the first 11 days in may is 60.3 degrees which is exactly normal.
