Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:00 PM EST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 PM Tuesday to 1 am
EST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... sleet and freezing rain... which is in
effect from 3 PM Tuesday to 1 am EST Wednesday.

* Locations... the Interstate I-95 corridor from northeastern
Maryland to central New Jersey.

* Hazard types... a wintry mix of precipitation.

* Snow accumulations... less than 1 inch

* ice accumulations... a few hundredths of an inch.

* Timing... snow should overspread the region during the mid
afternoon Tuesday before quickly changing to sleet and then
freezing rain from southwest to northeast during the late
afternoon and early evening. The precipitation is then expected
to transition to all rain later in the evening as temperatures
warm above freezing. The duration of the freezing rain may be
longest just north and west of I-95.

* Impacts... untreated surfaces will become slippery and hazardous.
Even light icing amounts will lead to hazardous travel,
especially with the potential for the wintry mix to coincide
with the Tuesday evening commute.

* Winds... south 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 30s, rising above freezing by around
midnight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Special Statement
Statement as of 10:44 PM EST on March 02, 2015

... Patchy ice overnight into Tuesday morning...

Temperatures rose above freezing on Monday in much of eastern
Pennsylvania and in all of New Jersey, Delaware and northeastern
Maryland. There was a fair amount of runoff from melting snow and
ice.

Standing water on roads, walkways and parking lots began to
freeze this evening. Overnight temperatures should fall into the
single digits in the Poconos and northern New Jersey, and into the
10 to 20 degree range elsewhere.

If you will be going out overnight or on Tuesday morning, be
prepared for slippery spots. Use extra caution if driving.
