Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 3:49 PM EDT on July 07, 2015

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Hunterdon County in northwestern New Jersey...
southern Warren County in northwestern New Jersey...
west central Morris County in northern New Jersey...
south central Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey...

* until 745 PM EDT

* at 349 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated an area of heavy rain
moving northeast around 15 mph that will produce around an inch of
rain in less than an hour. This heavy rain will cause Urban and
Small Stream flooding as it moves into the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hackettstown... Washington... Stanhope... Netcong... Harmony...
Oxford... Alpha... Glen Gardner... Chester... Hampton... Califon...
Bloomsbury... Pleasant Valley... Great Meadows-Vienna... Roxburg...
beatyestown... Budd Lake... Brass Castle... Allamuchy-Panther Valley
and Long Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
