The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York... including the following areas... in northeast New Jersey... Bergen... eastern Passaic... Essex... Hudson... Union and western Passaic. In southeast New York... Orange and Rockland.
* From Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon
* there is the potential from one to one and one half inches of rain... with locally higher amounts... across the watch area from late tonight into Tuesday night. The heaviest rain is expected from late Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
* With river levels across northeast New Jersey and portions of the lower Hudson Valley running relatively high already... this rainfall could bring these rivers and small streams in the area to flood.
