This breaks the old record of 1.56 set in 1976.

... Straight line thunderstorm winds of up to 70 mph responsible for
damage in Bridgton Maine...

A National Weather Service damage survey team has determined that a
thunderstorm produced straight line winds from the south of up to 70
mph Thursday afternoon. This resulted in numerous trees being
uprooted or snapped off along or near the top of the trunk... some of
which fell onto nearby homes. The damage was caused by a wet
microburst... which is the result of of large amount of air and
water in a thunderstorm rushing to the ground and then spreading out
in advance of the storm once in contact with the ground. Eyewitness
accounts report torrential rain occurring at the same time as the
strong wind... all of which lasted only around a minute or two. This
is consistent with a wet microburst.

The microburst first came in contact with the ground at the south
end of Woods Pond near Route 117 and Woods Pond drive. The greatest
concentration of damaged homes were in this area. The winds then
traveled north across Woods Pond to the area around Wildwood
Road... between molly Morgan way and Camp Wildwood. Numerous trees
were uprooted and snapped in this area... with all of them having
been blown down in a northerly direction. The path of this
microburst was only about a mile long and a quarter to a third of a
mile wide.
