The high temperature today at Omaha was 70 degrees... which is the second coldest high temperature on record for July 4 and the coldest reading since 1997. The record of 67 degrees was set in 1915. The previous second coldest reading of 73 degrees was reached in 1872... 1891... 1972... and 1997.
The high temperature today at Lincoln was 74 degrees... which ties for the fourth coldest high temperature on record for July 4... a reading also reached in 1967. This is also the coldest reading since 1997... when the temperature reached 73 degrees. The record at Lincoln is 70 degrees... set in 1915.
