* Flash Flood Warning for...
Saline County in southeastern Nebraska...
northern Jefferson County in southeastern Nebraska...
northwestern Gage County in southeastern Nebraska...
Lancaster County in southeastern Nebraska...
southeastern Seward County in southeastern Nebraska...

* until 730 am CDT

* at 247 am CDT... local law enforcement continues to report ongoing
flooding. Generally speaking most locations within this warning
have received between 3 and 7 inches of rain. Thus far the highest
report received is just under 9 inches near Swanton. This heavy
rain has resulted in flash flooding which has now transitioned
mostly into river flooding. More rain is on the way.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lincoln... Crete... Waverly... Wilber... Hickman... Bennet...
Dorchester... De Witt... Cortland... Plymouth... western... Clatonia...
Hallam... Roca... Denton... Daykin... Sprague... Tobias... Swanton and
wagon train state Recreation Area.

Additional rainfall amounts of a quarter to a half inch are possible
in the warned area.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 136 in Nebraska between mile markers 141 and 147.
Highway 2 in Nebraska between mile markers 466 and 472.

* at 231 am CDT... local law enforcement reported ongoing flooding in
the advised area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Nebraska and
southeast Nebraska... including the following areas... in east
central Nebraska... Butler and Saunders. In southeast
Nebraska... Jefferson... Lancaster... Saline and Seward.

* Until 4 am CDT Thursday

* numerous strong thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall will
occur tonight. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches could be
possible which could cause areas of flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
