Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 am MDT... tonight across parts of western Nebraska... a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to move east at near 30 mph through the Panhandle. The threat of severe weather appears to have decreased somewhat however strong or damaging winds will likely develop as the storms weaken across parts of garden and Sheridan counties. Up to an inch of rain is possible as the storms move through.

At 1110 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 7 miles north of Crescent Lake NWR... or 29 miles southeast of Alliance... moving east at 30 mph.
The severe thunderstorm will be near... 6 miles north of Deer Lake by 1125 PM MDT... Britton Lake by 1130 PM MDT... Jerry Lake by 1135 PM MDT... 8 miles south of Kincaid Lake by 1145 PM MDT...
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path... prepare immediately for damaging winds... destructive hail... and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter... preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.
