A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST Saturday.
* Timing... although light snow or flurries are likely through the morning hours... steadier light snow will develop this afternoon. Snow then will become occasionally moderate overnight and into Friday morning. Light snow is then expected to continue through Friday night.
* Snow accumulations... total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches of snow may occur from this storm with lighter amounts toward Fairbury and create.
* Winds... northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph are expected today. Winds may increase to 25 to 35 mph tonight and into the day on Friday with gusts to 40 mph.
* Impacts... this system will produce significant impacts to travel today through Friday night. Along with the snowfall... strong winds will produce blowing and drifting snow leading to reduced visibilities. In addition... due to the ice that fell on Wednesday and the increasing winds today... scattered power outages will be possible.
