Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 8:30 PM CDT on May 22, 2015

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1015 am CDT Wednesday for
southwestern Dawson County...

Although the river gage near Cozad remains below flood stage... minor
flooding continues along the river at several locations from western
Dawson County into south central portions of the County.

The water level is currently expected to continue slowly
decreasing... but it is important to note that minor flooding will
likely continue through the middle part of next week.

Fluctuations in river levels should be minimal as it falls... but
additional rainfall upstream over the weekend may eventually lead to
adjustments to future river forecasts. If your interests are
impacted by these high water levels... please monitor river levels
and the latest forecasts for the next several days.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
