Statement as of 5:29 PM CST on November 16, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 am CST Tuesday... ... Winter Storm Warning is cancelled... The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for rain and snow... which is in effect until 6 am CST Tuesday. The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled. A mix of rain and snow will continue this evening with some additional trace to 3 inch accumulations possible. In addition north winds at 10 to 25 mph may result in additional power outages. Temperatures and Road conditions will be quite variable across the advisory area... so be prepared for variable Road conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of rain and snow... will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Water equivalent of melted snow was 1.11 inches. 11/16/2009 0100 PM 1 miles NE of Falls City, Richardson County. Heavy snow m6.0 inch, reported by co-op observer. Falls City Airport manager measured snow at 1pm after it had stopped accumulating at the Airport. 11/16/2009 0900 am Dawson, Richardson County. Snow e6.0 inch, reported by NWS employee. Estimated depth approaching 6 inches. Snowfall rates could be approaching 2 inches per hour. 11/16/2009 0634 am Falls City, Richardson County. Snow e1.0 inch, reported by law enforcement. About an inch of snow accumulation. 11/16/2009 0529 am Falls City, Richardson County. Snow e0.5 inch, reported by law enforcement. Snow falling moderate to heavy. Some accumulation up to half an inch.
