A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late tonight through late Tuesday night. * Timing: occasional flurries can be expected this afternoon... with light to moderate snow moving in tonight ahead of the main storm system. Heavier snowfall is expected on Tuesday and Tuesday evening... before tapering off late Tuesday night. * Snow accumulations: snowfall totals of 6 inches or more are possible by Tuesday night. * Winds: strong northwest winds of 20 to 40 mph Tuesday night through Wednesday will create considerable blowing and drifting snow. Near blizzard conditions are possible in open areas. * Impacts: significant impacts to travel are possible late tonight through Wednesday due to heavy snow and blowing snow. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
