	Winter Weather Advisory, Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 4:04 AM CST on December 06, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 am this morning to 9 PM CST this evening... ... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Monday night through late Tuesday night... The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 9 PM CST this evening. A Winter Storm Watch has also been issued. This Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Monday night through late Tuesday night. * The first of two storm systems will impact south central Nebraska today with light snow through early evening. A second... much stronger storm will push snow into the area around midnight Monday night... and continue through much of Tuesday night. * Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected across south central Nebraska today. The second storm on Tuesday will dump much heavier snow amounts... likely in the 6 to 10 inch range. * Blowing and drifting snow problems will be limited today... but that will not be the case with the second storm. North winds at 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts will cause widespread blowing and drifting snow Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. * Locally hazardous travel conditions are expected this afternoon and evening... as roads become snow packed and visibilities are reduced at times. The second storm has the potential to result in dangerous travel conditions due to heavier snow amounts and much stronger winds. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Statement as of 8:30 am CST on December 6, 2009 NOAA Weather Radio station kec39... which operates on a frequency of 162.525 mhz and transmits from tower facilities near Cambridge Nebraska... is off the air for tower maintenance. Technicians are hoping to have it back on the air this afternoon. The following counties in Nebraska will be impacted... Furnas... Gosper... Frontier... Red Willow... and in kansas: Norton and Decatur. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause.
