The Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk of severe weather for parts of central Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and southern Nebraska. Severe thunderstorms are developing throughout the area, producing tornadoes, heavy rain, and large hail. Tornadoes will be possible into the evening.

At 435 PM CDT Doppler radar indicated a line of showers and thunderstorms from 10 miles southeast of Bartlett to 6 miles southwest of Mason City...moving north at 30 mph. Locations that may be affected include... Ansley...Ericson...Berwyn...Bartlett and Westerville. Small hail and 1/2 inch of rain will fall in 30 minutes with strongest storms. Other showers will produce around 1/4 inch in 30 minutes. Other showers and thunderstorms were also moving north around Valentine east to Springview and Anoka. Isolated thunderstorms were farther south toward Thedford. These showers and thunderstorms will produce around 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rain in 30 minutes. All of this rain was associated with a large and powerful storm system moving through the Central High plains this afternoon. The strongest thunderstorms will last through about 10 PM CDT. Thereafter showers and isolated thunderstorms will gradually lift north into South Dakota.
