... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 4 am CDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Nebraska and
southeast Nebraska... including the following areas... in east
central Nebraska... Butler and Saunders. In southeast
Nebraska... Jefferson... Lancaster... Saline and Seward.

* Until 4 am CDT Thursday

* numerous strong thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall will
occur tonight. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches could be
possible which could cause areas of flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

At 916 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
near Hallam... or 14 miles southwest of Lincoln... moving northeast at
45 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Lincoln... Waverly... Roca... Denton... Davey... Sprague and Bluestem
state Recreation Area.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 77 in Nebraska between milemarkers 48 and 77.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 395 and 412.
