...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 4 am CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 4 am CST Saturday.

* Timing...snow is expected to begin in the early afternoon as it spreads in from the southwest. Moderate snowfall is likely during the late afternoon and evening before tapering off toward and after midnight.

* Main impact...total snowfall of 3 to 4 inches can be expected. Isolated 5 inch amounts are also possible. Slippery roads and reduced visibilities are likely during the evening drive.

* Other impacts...north winds of 10 to 20 mph will accompany the snow this afternoon and tonight...and could cause minor blowing and drifting of snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
